Alerts that come with mon:

• Email notification.
• Alphanumeric paging notification via modem, using QuickPage.
• Alphanumeric messaging to portable devices using SNPP.
• Alphanumeric paging via email.
• Traps can be delivered to remote mon servers.
• It is trivial to add your own alert, and it does not require changing any code in the server.
